Volunteers


The Exploration Station...a children's museum is continually looking for individuals who are interested in volunteering at programs and events. Volunteering at Exploration Station is a great way to stay active in the community or accomplish volunteer hours needed for school. There are several volunteer positions available both for "grownups" (minimum age 16) and for youth ages 12 to 15. Volunteers not only have the fun of working for Exploration Station and the good feeling of contributing to the museum and community, but also receive special benefits.

Volunteer Positions*
(ages 16+)

Fun Facilitator
Assists with enhancing the benefits obtained from the museum exhibits by its visitors through the use of games, music activities, crafts, and other interactions.
 
Polish Posse
Puts the polishing touches on the museum and its exhibits by making it sparkling clean and presentable to visitors.

Exhibit Fabricator
Constructs, remodels, and maintains museum exhibits.

Special-Event Aide
Assists in the carrying out the functions of special event activities.

Junior Volunteer Positions*
(ages 12–15 with parent/guardian permission**)

Play Pals
Enhance museum visitors' exploration experience through the interaction of play
 
Tidy Teens
Assist in keeping the museum and its exhibits tidy, organized, and presentable to visitors

*Fill out Volunteer Application on-line; print it out; sign it; and mail it in or drop it off.
**Fill out Parental Permission Form on-line; print it out; have it signed by parent or guardian; and mail it in, drop it off, or send it with youngster when he/she comes in for an interview.
